WELCOME TO THE 2010-2011 SCHOOL YEAR!!!

SCHOOL OPENING - MONDAY, AUGUST 16, 2010

 

The Board of Education, Administration, Faculty and Support Staff welcome students and parents to the 2010-2011 school year.  

 

New Student Registration

All students new to the Arlington School District should register from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, August 9 or Tuesday, August 10, in the guidance departments.  Physical examinations are required by state law for all incoming kindergarten and 7th grade studentsAll Nebraska children will be required to provide evidence of two (2) doses of MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) vaccine and the Hepatitis B series.

 

Transportation

During the week of August 9, all bused students will receive from their driver a letter or phone call outlining their pick-up and drop-off times.  Students who have not been contacted by their driver during that time should call the superintendent’s office (478-4173).  Junior and senior high students who do not ride the bus should be dropped off at the east or south entrances of the high school building.  Students driving to school should park in the designated areas in the south parking lot or football field parking lot.  Elementary parents and students will use the north side of the elementary building for drop off and pick up. 

 

High School Fall Sports Parent Meetings:  A meeting will be held for football, volleyball, softball and cross country athletes and their parents on Thursday, August 5, at 6:30 p.m. in the high school gym. 

 

New Student/7th Grade Orientation/JH Fall Sports Meeting:  Seventh grade students and new students to the jr.-sr. high school and their parents are invited to attend an orientation program scheduled for Thursday, August 12, at 6:45 p.m. in the high school gym.  An informational meeting for junior high football, volleyball, and cross country athletes and parents (grades 7 and 8) will be at 6 p.m. prior to the 7th grade/new student orientation. 

 

Elementary Open House:  The elementary open house will be held on Thursday, August 12, from 5:30-7:00 p.m.
